Jernina was the oldest of Jesse and Milly's children. At the time she married she was quite young, not more than 16. Her name was spelled on the marriage record as Perninah, although other documents have it as Jerninea, Dernina, Terninah. At any rate, she was called Nina, and her unusual name was handed down in various forms through several generations. She apparently died young and without issue, since her father left her a token $1.00 in his will. (The same amount he left to Maryann Walden who he specifically states as deceased). Her husband Kinsey Marlowe survived her and was one of the purchasers when the Jesse keesee estate was sold in 1829.
