Notes: | Jesse Keesee gave Amy 100 acres of land on the west fork of Old Woman's Creek, Pittsylvania Co., VA (Recorded Deed Book 15, page 294) Feb. 16, 1807. They sold this land (100 acres, plus 100 acres they had acquired) in 1815 after they have moved to Tennessee. Thomas and Am moved their family from Virginia to Roane Co., TN in 1811. He bought 50 acres from Lewis Kirkpatrick in Swan Pond, and later 100 acres on Emory River from Thomas Hall. In 1826, Thomas Greene was paying taxes on 372 acres, and his sons Theoderick and Bluford were living nearby. Thomas's name appears in various records, but in general, he maintained a low profile. Amy Green, age 74, us listed in the Roane Co., TN census #1613. Thomas Green appears, with family, in the 1810 Pittsylvania Co., VA Tax List. In the Thomas Green estate settlement, Roane Co., TN, Book G, they mention Amy Green's father, Jesse Keesee of Pittsylvania Co., VA. All of this line is proven by the DAR. They are bothe buried in Swan Pond Methodist Church Cemetery. |
